Former Athens state Sen. Brian Kemp made it official today, filing paperwork to run for secretary of state.
A few rumors have circulated about potential opponents in the GOP primary, but Kemp so far is the lone candidate in the race. He’s already gathered more than 60 endorsements and can now start raising money, so he’s got a nice jump on anyone who might run against him.
Kemp also staked out a couple of smart policy positions – though it’s early, so details are sketchy – when I talked to him on the phone this afternoon.
