From the IdahoStatesman:
A new Capitol Mall parking garage.
A renovated science building at College of Idaho.
New snow removal equipment for Driggs.
More food stamps.
These are just a handful of wishes competing for the state’s $1 billion share of the federal economic stimulus money. They came from public agencies, cities, businesses, schools and even a few individuals.
The state released a list of requests Thursday. More than 1,000 requests totaling about $4 billion came from outside state agencies. The requests will go before an advisory committee that will review them before making a recommendation to Gov. Butch Otter, possibly by mid-March.
