From the Huntsville Times:
In the primary, nearly 5,900 Republicans voted, as compared to the Democrats’ nearly 4,100.
Then again, as Brown pointed out, only two Democrats were seeking the nomination in the special election to replace former state Sen. Parker Griffith, who resigned in November after being elected to Congress. Veteran state Rep. Laura Hall, 66, defeated political newcomer Anthony Daniels, 27, with 80 percent of the vote.
With six Republicans running, it was no surprise that the primary Tuesday didn’t provide the nominee. The runoff on April 21 will be between real estate attorney Sam Givhan, 42, and barbecue restaurant owner Paul Sanford, 41.
