Democratic lawmakers say North Dakota should spend the entire federal stimulus package over the next two years, adding that the governor’s recommended plan of saving $233 million for the next biennium is a “mistake.”
Both minority leaders flanked by Democratic lawmakers told reporters that the federal stimulus money should be used on one-time spending, while Republican leaders say a lot of the money included in the $573 million package for the state is directed to ongoing social programs.
