From StatesmanJournal:
House Bill 2588 moved to the Senate on a 39-19 vote. Oregon would join Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland and New Jersey to adopt a law moving toward a change in the current electoral college system, which awards all the electoral college votes in a state to one candidate.
“For Oregon to join this interstate compact would move the nation one step closer to making sure every vote counts in presidential elections,” said Rep. Ben Cannon, D-Portland, the bill’s floor manager.
