From PennLive.com:
A former Erie County executive will run for the position of lieutenant governor, the second-highest post in Pennsylvania.
Rick Schenker is a Republican from Millcreek Township, a suburb of Erie in western Pennsylvania.
The 51-year-old served as the county’s executive but did not run for a second term four years ago. He says he will seek the Republican nomination in the spring 2010 primary. He announced his candidacy on Monday.
