Richard said his message to the federal government is clear: Missouri will not take bribe (stimulus) money to start senseless programs.
“If we take money to start programs that don’t make sense, I don’t know if we’ll ever recover,” Richard said.
Other speakers at the three-hour Republican dinner included state Sen. Dan Clemens, state Rep. Mike Cunningham and Wendell Bailey, former state treasurer and U.S. representative. Recovering from the economic recession was the main topic for each speaker.
