From AL.com:
McMillan, R-Gulf Shores, said the district that takes in a large piece of north and northwest Baldwin County, including parts of Bay Minette, Daphne and even Fairhope, while largely bypassing Spanish Fort, was created after the 2000 census to form an area with a majority of Democratic voters.
“That’s the most confusing part, the way the district has been gerrymandered. There’s nothing we can do about it until after the next census. But we’ve got to make the public aware that, No. 1, there is an election, and No. 2, Baldwin County can play a big role in this election if people take the time to find out where the district lines are and vote,” McMillan said.
