This is jaw droppingly…words cannot describe the amount of outrage that would be flying from all corners of the Democrat constituency on this one if it was a Republican member who made such absurdly out of touch, radical statement. This would be national news. But, since it was Democrat on Democrat stupidity – the hate speech war room has not been activated, and the gentleman from Des Moines gets a standing ovation from his fellow Democrats. This, coupled with the Democrat inanity on the other side of the capital yesterday makes Iowa Democrats look like perfect…From DesMoinesRegister:
Dandekar, a native of India who now lives in Marion, said she tried to comfort Hatch when Senate Democrats met in private Monday.
“I told him in caucus we love him,” she said. “I know without a doubt that he has always fought for issues for minorities.”
The room gave Hatch a standing ovation, she said.
McKinley, of Chariton, listened to Dandekar, then said of Hatch’s comments: “It was an unfortunate statement. I trust if he says he’s sorry, I trust he’s sorry.”
