From Secretary of State Sam Reed:
Some key parts of Secretary of State Sam Reed’s legislative package remain alive as the state Legislature’s 2009 session has reached another deadline.
“I’m pleased that several of our bills are continuing to move through the legislative process this year,” said Secretary of State Sam Reed. “These bills cover areas ranging from elections to donating flags to our military soldiers, to naming rights for the Washington State Heritage Center. I appreciate the hard work by those legislators who have sponsored and shepherded our proposals.”
Monday was the last day for bills to clear policy committees in the house opposite where they originated. Budget-related bills face an April 6 cutoff to be approved by their assigned budget panel in the opposite chamber.
