From AZStarnet:
A former state lawmaker known for her outspoken conservative views is exploring a bid for Arizona governor.
Former state Sen. Karen Johnson, a Republican, has formed an exploratory committee for the state’s top job, setting the stage for a possible primary challenge against Gov. Jan Brewer next year.
Johnson, who retired from the Legislature last year, says she was prompted to run, in part, by Brewer’s advocacy for a temporary tax increase.
“I don’t have any grand illusions at all about winning,” Johnson said in an interview.
