New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte says her office would be forced to reduce prosecutions of white collar criminals and public officials accused of wrongdoing if the state Senate accepts the budget approved by the House.
The House cut $1 million from the governor’s proposed budget for the Department of Justice. Ayotte told the Senate Finance Committee on Friday that she would have to lay off or leave vacant seven attorney positions in the civil, criminal and consumer protection bureaus.
