State Attorney General Charles Foti Jr. offered no clear explanation today on why a city of Monroe request for an attorney general’s opinion on a political advertising issue has taken more than four months.
In early June, Monroe asked for an attorney general’s opinion on whether a state law banning political advertising on public property is applicable when it is leased to a private company. The city asked for an expedited opinion because of the upcoming Oct. 20 elections.
