Back in July, Forbes released their 50 state rankings of the “Best States for Business”. For the 2nd straight year, Virginia was at the top of class. Virginia lost a little ground to Washington State between 2006, and 2007, and it appears that Virginia might be on the cusp of losing even more ground based on a disturbing trend of campaign dollars that are flowing into the Commonwealth. According to public documents compiled by campaign finance watch dog Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP), Labor Unions have flooded the accounts of Virginia Democrats with at least $200,000 over a two day period (9/28/07-9/29/07) to fund their legislative campaigns across the state.

It’s a very curious development in a state where the Democrat Governor claims to be proud of the state’s top business ranking – maybe he should support Republican candidates given that they’re the ones who are doing more to protect Virginia’s economy than the state’s legislative Democrats.
