Now that the coast is clear – many strong Republicans will be openly considering the prospect of being Florida’s next top cop. The last two Florida GOP AGs have been strong leaders. Who will be next? From The Miami Herald:
In the wake of Bill McCollum’s announcement today that he will leave his post as attorney general and run for governor, Rep. Bill Galvano, a Bradenton Republican who is House Rules chairman, told the Herald/Times he is considering entering the attorney general’s race.
Galvano’s name now gets added to the list of other potential candidates: Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp and former chief of staff to Gov. Charlie Crist, George LeMieux.
“It is something that I’m taking a look at,” Galvano said.
