State Rep. David Bradley tells Notebook that it’s possible he may resign from the Legislature as early as July or August to pursue a bid for the state’s top office.
Bradley, a Democrat, has two challenges to overcome. He’s from Tucson, and it’s been more than 30 years since a Southern Arizonan has landed in the governor’s seat. And this state hasn’t seen many legislators make it directly to the office without going through another state office, namely secretary of state, first.
