From VenturaCountyStar:
Launching his campaign with an Internet assault that included announcements on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Flickr, Assemblyman Pedro Nava on Thursday formally announced his intent to run for California attorney general next year.
Nava, a Democrat who represents portions of Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, joins an unusually crowded field of candidates who say they will seek the party’s nomination next June. Six Democrats are now competing for the chance to succeed Attorney General Jerry Brown, under the assumption that Brown will run for governor instead.
Nava said he fully understands the challenges of running statewide in a state so vast that virtually none of its 17.1 million voters know who he is, and in which it will take at least a few million dollars to make the slightest dent in the public’s consciousness.
