From the Roanoke Times:
The campaign of Republican attorney general candidate John Brownlee has asked state authorities to find out who is responsible for attacking the former federal prosecutor in automated phone calls to delegates attending this weekend’s GOP convention.
Brownlee’s campaign argues that the calls violate state election laws because they do not contain a disclaimer indicating who paid for or authorized the message. The campaign also raised ethical objections to the attack, which comes just days before state Republicans decide a three-way battle for the attorney general nomination.
