From ToledoBlade:
The army that Republicans hope will turn back the Democratic tide of the last four years continued to take shape yesterday with the announcement that a second-term lawmaker and former Marine will run for Ohio treasurer.
Rep. Josh Mandel (R., Lyndhurst), considered a rising star within the GOP ranks after being elected twice in a heavily Democratic district in the Cleveland suburbs, will take on Democratic Treasurer Kevin Boyce for the job as the state’s top banker and broker.
“I’ve shown an ability to cross over and draw support from Republicans and Democrats alike,” Mr. Mandel said.
