From TwinCities.com:
Minnesota House Minority Leader Marty Seifert today announced he will step down from his leadership position this month, saying he is considering a run for the Republican nomination for governor next year.
The 47 House Republicans are scheduled to meet June 24 to elect a new leader.
Seifert, 37, a seven-term lawmaker from Marshall, said he will resign from the position that day because running for governor would conflict with his duties as a legislative leader.
