From Statesman.com:
That vision could yet play out; Republican lobbyist Thomas Ratliff on Wednesday announced plans to challenge Republican Don McLeroy for his seat on the State Board of Education, Republican Susan Combs declared for a second term as state comptroller, and Hutchison jabbed that lawmakers failed this year to address school dropout, home insurance and electric utility rates as well as property taxes and access to health care.
Ahead, Democrat Tom Schieffer of Fort Worth still plans to declare for governor later this month.
