From TimesUnion:
Claiming they want to end “the power of kings” in the Legislature’s leader-driven structure, Senate Republicans held a news conference Thursday to roll out their proposals for rules reform, and criticized Senate Democrats for what they claimed was the slow progress of change under the new majority.
The conference was helmed by Minority Leader Dean Skelos and Sens. John Bonacic, Joseph Griffo and George Winner, three members of the bipartisan Senate Temporary Committee on Rules and Administration Reform, which issued its recommendations in April. At that time, the three GOP members lambasted Democrats for rushing out the report before minority members had read it, and released their own minority report.
