From WJRT-TV:
Fearing crime will go up as the result of early prison releases, State Police cuts and prison closures, Attorney General Mike Cox told a room full of sheriffs Tuesday that state budget struggles have forced the perfect storm.
Cox, who is also running for governor next year, says that “perfect storm” is being caused by poor government decisions made during our economy in crisis.
Saginaw County was just one of the 70 or so sheriff’s departments represented at the annual Michigan Sheriffs Association conference.
The main concern this year is how our economy in crisis is affecting the motto “to protect and serve.”
