State Rep. Bill Galvano says he won’t run for attorney general next year.
The Bradenton Republican, who chairs the House’s powerful Rules and Calendar Committee, said Friday he’ll run instead for the Florida Senate in 2012.
The GOP has one declared candidate for attorney general, Fort Lauderdale lawyer Jim Lewis, but Republican Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp says he also may run.
Two state senators, Dan Gelber of Miami Beach and Dave Aronberg of Greenacres, are seeking the Democratic nomination.
