From WJBC News:
Republican state Senator Matt Murphy has announced plans to run for governor next year. The Palatine attorney has told the Chicago Tribune he feels he gives his party its best chance to win.
Murphy says he’s gotten good feedback on his decision to run. He was first elected to the senate in 2006. He says the fact that he doesn’t have ties to the GOP of the past, including convicted former Governor George Ryan, is an asset.
