New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte resigned today, effective July 17, “to explore a campaign for the United States Senate.”
Other Republicans considering a run include Manchester attorney Ovide Lamontagne, a former member of the state Board of Education, and Rich Ashooh, a vice president at BAE Systems.
U.S. Rep. Paul W. Hodes, a two-term Democrat representing the 2nd District, is already running for his party’s nomination.Additional details and reaction will be posted throughout the afternoon on UnionLeader.com.
