Tommy Chapman, a southwest Alabama prosecutor, says he will stay out of the race for the Democratic nomination for attorney general and continue to serve in his current job and continue his battle against cancer.
Chapman said he had been asked to run for attorney general by other district attorneys at a Birmingham conference, telling him the office needed someone with experience as a prosecutor.
