From NewJerseyNewsRoom.com:
Republican challenger Chris Christie has gained slightly on Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine in the race for governor and now holds a 53-41 percent lead among likely voters, according to a Quinnipiac poll released Tuesday.
The margin compares to a 50 – 40 percent lead the former federal prosecutor held in a June 10 survey.
New Jersey registered voters who talked to pollsters disapprove 60-33 percent of the job Corzine is doing, his lowest rating in his nearly four years in office and down from 56-36 percent disapproval in the June 10 poll. Potential independent voters disapprove 69-24 percent. Likely voters also disapprove 60-33 percent.
The poll was made public as Corzine prepares for popular President Obama to appear with him at a campaign rally on Thursday at the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel that will draw over 17,000 supporters.
