From KTUU.com:
The process to confirm the next lieutenant general began Monday.
The House Judiciary Committee held a confirmation hearing for Lt. Gen. Craig Campbell in Fairbanks, and the public got a chance to weigh in on the choice for the state’s No. 2 job.
Committee Chair Jay Ramras, R-Fairbanks, says the hearing gave the Legislature a chance to sort out challenges of succession raised by Gov. Sarah Palin’s resignation.
Campbell, currently the commissioner of Military and Veterans Affairs, used the hearings as an opportunity to show his experience outside the military.
