Alaska’s attorney general wants changes made to the state’s ethics law.
Dan Sullivan released an opinion Wednesday recommending the Legislature make certain changes and announced the Department of Law will be implementing some new regulations on how to implement the act.
The reason behind it is to cut down on abuses of the ethics law. It’s an issue he says he has been working on since former Gov. Sarah Palin appointed him in June.
Issues include the need to preserve the confidentiality of complaints. To do that Sullivan wants less information passed to those who filed the complaint, such as keeping the investigator’s report a secret.
