From StarGazette.com:
The speculation has largely focused on who will run for governor next year, when the seat as well as two U.S. Senate seats, attorney general and comptroller, will be on the ballot. Also, all 212 seats in the state Legislature will be up for election, as well as all 29 U.S. House seats.
Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani is considered the GOP’s top candidate for governor. Giuliani has jumped into the fray over who will be the next state GOP chairman, backing Niagara County GOP Chairman Henry Wojtaszek over Ed Cox, a Manhattan attorney and son-in-law of the late President Richard Nixon.
Giuliani last week personally called a few county chairmen to push Wojtaszek, including the GOP chairmen of Monroe and Onondaga counties. Aides to Giuliani said Tuesday he won’t make up his mind until after this November’s elections.
