From DelawareOnline:
Rep. Mike Castle would beat Attorney General Beau Biden by five percentage points if a race for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Biden’s father was held today, according to a poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports.
The poll of 500 “likely” Delaware voters conducted Wednesday by telephone found 47 percent of respondents in Castle’s corner, while 42 percent said Biden was their choice. The poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
Neither Castle, the nine-term Republican congressman, nor Biden, a Democrat about 22 months deep into a four-year term, has said whether he will run for the seat vacated by Joe Biden, now the vice president. That’s why the poll’s proprietor — Scott Rasmussen, a pollster for 10 years or so — labeled the poll as “hypothetical.”
