From Dayton Business Journal:
The dispute had taken on political significance as Husted is running for the GOP slot in the secretary of state race next year. Brunner isn’t going for another term as she seeks the U.S. Senate seat to be vacated by Republican George Voinovich.
The Supreme Court writ was joined by all seven justices, although Justice Paul Pfeifer concurred in judgment only and entered a separate opinion.
In reversing Brunner’s decision, the court wrote that the Montgomery County elections board didn’t follow procedure in moving to cancel Husted’s registration and also disagreed with Brunner on the role the residency of Husted’s family played in her decision.
