State Sen. Robert Hurt (R-Pittsylvania County) has announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination to challenge Democrat Tom Perriello for the Fifth District Congressional seat next year.
“Today, I have filed the paperwork with the Federal Election Commission necessary to seek the Republican nomination for election to the United States Congress from the Fifth District,” Hurt said.
