Republican Assemblyman Ty Cobb has scheduled a Reno news conference to announce his intent to seek the Nevada state Senate seat being vacated by Randolph Townsend.
Cobb, a strict fiscal conservative, was elected to the Assembly in 2006 and won re-election last year.
He planned to make an official announcement 11 a.m. Thursday at the Nevada Motor Transport Association.
