From Courier-Journal.com:
“Anonymous attacks by themselves don’t hurt if it’s just an attack,” said David Adams, campaign manager for Republican Rand Paul, a Bowling Green ophthalmologist running for Senate. “Now, if there’s video or audio evidence of a candidate doing something or saying something that might be a little different.”
But he added that the sheer volume of information on the Internet can make it difficult for such attacks to take hold.
Mark Riddle, a consultant for Attorney General Jack Conway, a Democratic candidate for Senate, likened the tricksters to pamphleteers in the 1700s and 1800s. “Politics in this country haven’t really changed in more than 200 years,” he said.
