The Fix Michigan Center of West Michigan launched Tuesday, part of a statewide push to elect Republican candidates in 2010.
The center, located at Kent County Republican Committee headquarters at 264 Leonard Ave. NW, is one of 10, including one in Kalamazoo. Ron Weiser, state GOP chairman, said the centers provide an opportunity for people to discuss solutions and how they can be part of the process.
“We want to build relationships with the community and get them engaged in fixing Michigan by electing Republican leadership,” said Jeff Orzechowski, director of the West Michigan center.
Joanne Voorhees, chairwoman of the Kent County Republican Party, said the center will serve as a phone bank for volunteers to make calls and a headquarters for organizing mailings and conducting door-to-door campaigns.
