From SunHerald.com:
Biloxi real estate developer Scott DeLano took 53 percent of the vote Tuesday in unofficial results to beat Patrick Collins in the special election for state House District 117.
The 38-year-old DeLano will now represent the district, which includes parts of West Biloxi and East Gulfport.
Early totals, which included mostly Gulfport precincts, had Collins, who lives in Gulfport, ahead of DeLano, 271-198 with 6 of 9 precincts reporting. But after three populous Biloxi precincts were counted, DeLano had won 871-779, according to unofficial totals. The district has about 12,000 registered voters, so turnout was less than 15 percent.
