Mississippians for Economic Progress have a launched a website that is…
…intended to provide factual information on the relationship between Attorney General Jim Hood and a small group of wealthy trial lawyers that are benefiting at the expense of Mississippi taxpayers.
Through a secretive process with no accountability, Hood has given out millions of dollars in legal contracts to his top campaign contributors.

Regardless of who the next Attorney General is – Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative – the process of hiring outside counsel to work on the state’s legal business should be open and transparent instead of being conducted behind closed doors.
The address for this new home on the web for looking under the Hood can be found here.
With headlines like: Secretive No-Bid Contracts, Trial Lawyer Benefactors, Abuse of Taxpayer Dollars, Sunshine Reform Needed you can only imagine the press this could generate.
The message is simple and reminiscent of an early post we put up here and continues to echo the Hopkins campaign message and this web video.
Hood knows he’s in trouble, that’s why he’s has two attack ads running against his Republican foe Al Hopkins – don’t you just love this time of year?
