From the Denver Business Journal:
Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter confirmed Wednesday he is withdrawing from his re-election bid, saying it’s for the sake of his family.
“I’ve attempted to balance many roles in my life,” the fist-term Democrat said to a crowd gathered in the west foyer of the state Capitol for Ritter’s announcement.
He said his family had “sacrificed the most,” adding, “I have not found the proper balance for my family.”
He did not go into specifics as to how his re-election bid was affecting his family duties, but he called his decision “intensely personal.”
