From Courant.com:
Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz’s legal qualifications to run for state attorney general – a candidacy she formally announced Wednesday – were questioned Thursday on the basis that, even though she is an attorney, she may not have spent sufficient time in the actual practice of law.
Bysiewicz responded that she clearly meets the requirement in state law that “the Attorney General shall be an elector of this state and an attorney at law of at least ten years’ active practice at the bar of this state.”
The issue first surfaced Thursday in this entry by lawyer Ryan McKeen in his “A Connecticut Law Blog,” with its headline raising the question “Is Susan Bysiewicz Legally Qualified To Serve As Attorney General?” He said her resume shows six years of actual law practice in Connecticut before she won election to her current office in 1998.
