Mississippi Democrat L.G. candidate Jamie Franks apparently was somewhat displeased when the RSLC went up with its Headstone spot highlighting Representative Frank’s record on the job killing death tax, and record of coming up short when it comes to providing economic opportunity for Mississippi citizens through new jobs and investment.
Franks initial response the day the spot went up was stunned silence.
His next response was right out of the Democrat play book: scream bloody murder; have your campaign lawyer flood t.v. stations with a letter filled with indignation and demanding the spot be pulled down; support the letter and its claim with unrelated facts; send out a press release late in the day to reporters and friendly bloggers; and do it all late in the day at the end of the week.
Well – he did all of that, including the letter from the lawyer that attributes the spot to a) the wrong group (hey we want credit here!); and b) makes claims about the spot that just aren’t true – more to the point – claiming that the spot is saying one thing when in fact (As anybody who sees the spot the hoped for 20 times a week knows) it is saying something totally different. We’ll spare you the letter, but might want to advise the Democrat nominee’s campaign to either a) get a new lawyer; or b) support the environment and stop wasting paper on frivolous legal challenges.
At any rate, we at the State News Shot want to make sure you the reader continue to know the facts about Jamie Franks. So, we won’t stop with television commercials – we’ll give you such a steady diet of facts about Jamie Franks that you’ll be so fat and happy you’ll think you just left McCalisters for lunch, or the Red Rooster for dinner.
Try this one on for size: Jamie Franks has been little more than a showboat in the legislature. Since 1998, he has been the primary author of only six substantive bills that were passed and approved by the Governor. Even Franks’ own Democrat colleagues in the House have accused him of introducing “silly legislation” and misunderstanding the law.
When it comes to Jamie Franks – you can’t make this stuff up – he does all of the hard work for you.
