From The Boston Herald:
From his folksy television spots to his crisp one-liners and keen gauge of the electorate’s mood, upstart Republican state Sen. Scott Brown has seized every opportunity – and ultimately defined the historic race for U.S. Senate.
Brown’s populist candidacy caught fire this frigid January, harnessing widespread angst and anger over the economy while convincing the state’s independent voters that he would bring an “independent voice” to Washington.
Meanwhile, Attorney General Martha Coakley’s campaign was caught napping, taking a holiday break from the campaign trail, followed by a series of missteps that, taken together, amounted to a virtual implosion.
