From Capitol Watch:
As of Tuesday afternoon, Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz still had not given Attorney General Richard Blumenthal the formal request that she vowed last week to submit, seeking his legal opinion on whether she qualifies as a candidate for attorney general. But, about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, a spokeswoman for her campaign said that Bysiewicz would submit a formal letter sometime Wednesday.
Campaign spokeswoman Tanya Meck said Bysiewicz is still working on the request but “the plan is to get it to [Blumenthal]” by Wednesday.
One question being asked around the Capitol in recent days has been whether she would formally request the opinion by using her official position as secretary of the state – or if she would simply ask in her role as a candidate for office. Meck said Tuesday it will be the former – in her official capacity.
