From AZCapitolTimes:
On the Republican side, Tom Horne, the state superintendant of public instruction, has filed his candidacy for the attorney general’s race, and Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas opened an exploratory committee last year. Thomas has not officially filed as a candidate, and would have to resign as county attorney to run for attorney general because his term does not end until January 2013.
Rabago filed to run as a publicly financed candidate, though a federal judge ruled that the matching funds portion of Arizona’s clean elections system is unconstitutional. The ruling was handed down the same day Rabago announced his candidacy.
