Pop quiz!
What does Jamie Franks do when he’s not representing Lee, Itawamba, Tishomingo counties as a Democrat State Representative in Mississippi?
A) Plaintiffs lawyer
B) Yard man
C) Democrat Blogger
D) NASCAR Vaccine Distributor
E) None of the above
The answer: We’re not really sure.
And here’s why. You see, according to state documents filed by Franks himself since 2000, Jamie Franks has either been a trial lawyer, or a very well compensated lawn man.
In 2000, Franks failed list any business interests on his state filings.
2002 – He lists his partnership with the plaintiffs firm Wheeler and Franks
2003 – He lists his ownership in Wheeler and Franks and North Mississippi Horticultural Services
2004 – He lists only his ownership in Wheeler Franks
2005 – North Mississippi Horticultural Services is back along with Wheeler Franks
2006 – Wheeler and Franks only, no North Mississippi Horticultural Services – grass didn’t grow that year
Finally, in 2007 he lists only Wheeler and Franks, but the House passes a Resolution praising Franks and even mentions his being the owner of North Mississippi Horticultural Services. What’s more, check his official state web page where his occupation is listed as owner of….North Mississippi Horticultural Services. Which is about the only place you’ll find any mention of this lawn care venture. A search of the Secretary of State’s office, online databases and search engines, and the Greater Lee Pontotoc Counties Telephone Book found NO LISTINGS for North Mississippi Horticultural Services.
Think about it – Jamie Franks is funding his own campaign – how much is he charging for yard work?
