From BattleCreekEnquirer:
Meanwhile, Republican Bill Schuette was the early fundraising leader in the race to become Michigan’s next attorney general, according to finance reports filed with the state Monday.
Schuette, a former state lawmaker and congressman who most recently was a Michigan Court of Appeals judge, reported raising more than $407,000 last year. He entered 2010 with more than $217,000 in cash on hand.
Both the Schuette and Benson campaigns said they had set fundraising records for non-incumbents at this point in the election cycle.
