From AuburnPub.com:
Last weekend, Gov. David Paterson traveled to upstate to announce he would seek a full term as governor.
The campaign lasted one week.On Friday, Paterson announced he would end his campaign after a New York Times article claimed he contacted a woman who was allegedly beaten by one of the governor’s most trusted aides, David Johnson.
The Times article was the “bombshell” everyone was waiting for. The newspaper published two articles before Paterson’s announcement, one of which discussed Johnson’s role in Paterson’s administration and his questionable background. In Johnson’s background were allegations he hit multiple women and drug arrests from when he was a teenager.
