From The Arizona Republic:
Gov. Jan Brewer could call a special session of the Legislature next week as part of her effort to block the enactment of federal health-care reform in Arizona.
Brewer is in talks with legislative leaders to call a session that would give her explicit permission to sue the federal government on the state’s behalf over the legislation signed into law Tuesday by President Barack Obama.
Her goal is to block the federal government from requiring residents to purchase insurance. Brewer, who has issued several statements against what she calls an unfunded mandate, also has concerns about the way revenue from the law will be apportioned, her spokesman said.
