Here’s how the immigration issue playing out in the states – whole different style of rhetoric and posturing, or lack there of, than at the Federal level.
As Oklahoma’s new state immigration reform measure nears becoming law on Thursday, the issue has sparked lots of discussion and debates. Locally, however, the new law isn’t expected to change daily law enforcement activities too much.Called the “Oklahoma Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act of 2007,” the new law reads that illegal immigration is causing economic hardship in the state because it is encouraged by public agencies that provide benefits without verifying immigration status
